Great Preschool!
We are new to the Key West Preschool and we are having an excellent experience. My daughter is in the 2's class and she hasn't really been a willing participant and her teacher has been so patient and kind with her. Yes there is work to be done, but that is the very definition of Co-operative-everyone lends a hand. I am excited to be a part of an organization that has such a sense of community. I feel that my children are safe & cared for when I'm not there and that I am respected as a mother when I'm the working parent in the classroom. I am looking forward to the rest of the year.

Love, Love, Love the Co-Op :)
The Key West Preschool Co-op is an AMAZING place to send your children. I spent three years there with my son and will start all over this fall with the mommy and me class. I met many great parents that will forever be my friends. The curriculum is fantastic and the concept of 'children, parents and teachers all learning together' is something I whole heartedly believe in. Early childhood education SHOULD have a lot of parental involvement and this school displays that theory. I highly recommend the Key West preschool co-op to anyone that wants to be ACTIVELY involved in their child's early learning experience. It is truly gratifying and rewarding to both child and parent!

Proven to be the best!
I was really upset by the previous review the co-op received. The school is a co-op, therefore parents cooperate to keep the school running. As in everything there are always people who want to reap the benefits of a program like this without having to do anything for it! This is obviously one of those people! I have had an amazing time at the co-op, my children are ecstatic to go to school and the VPK program has been proven by the state to be the best in the lower keys. This school isn't for everyone, but if you want to be an active parent in a supportive positive environment and you have the time necessary this can be the best experience your child will have.

Worst experience ever
I was enthusiastic about joining a cooperative school. That is, until I found out that "Co-Op" actually means that the leaders don't have to do their jobs; nor do they ensure that staff does theirs. I was sorely dissappointed and at some points horrified at how this school is run. Complaints aren't addressed. There are no clear lines of communication. I never knew if I was to go to the Board members or administration for questions and complaints. I could not even get that issue cleared up. Nobody knows anything.

The parents are made to feel like they owe the school something. That "something" being on top of tuition, volunteering in class, your school job, volunteering at the Spring Fair (which was horrific in and of itself), and fundraisers every month.

When someone does want to go above and beyond their duties, there are plenty of busybodies butting their noses in and make things complicated.

The lack of professionalism on the part of both the former president as well as the president-elect is quite distasteful, also.
